EXPANDING SKILL SETS

As an artist, teacher and administrator, Kailey always relishes the wonderful opportunity to broaden and strengthen her skill sets in all avenues of theatrical production and artistic expression, as well as connect with other industry professionals. Specifically, Kailey was grateful to connect with Pam Pariseau and the Broadway teaching artists of Broadway Teaching Group who instructed and facilitated several impactful and age-appropriate workshops for our performance companies this weekend.

HIGHLIGHTS

Though Kailey enjoyed getting to expand her network, several personal highlights of the trip included being able to experience Broadway in NYC for the first time post-pandemic with & Juliet, Disney’s The Lion King and Moulin Rouge, as well as having the opportunity to reconnect with several of my performer colleagues from undergraduate and high school training who are currently working in NYC’s theatre industry.

NEW OPPORTUNITIES

Kailey had a blast in NYC with Charleston Academy of Musical Theatre in March, as well stage managing the final four productions of their 22-23 season at the historic Sottile Theatre! AS A STAGE MANAGER

Continuing on with the momentum from her 21-22 season with CAMT, Kailey went on to stage manage two productions (Matilda Jr. & The Music Man Jr.) at the historic Sottile Theatre in January 2023. Kailey believes that her experience as a performer has a great influence in her abilities as a stage manager - particularly when calling cues within measures of music and based on emotional 'feel', and she looks forward to stage managing 3 additional productions in the Charleston area this coming spring!

AS A TEACHING ARTIST

Kailey has loved the opportunity to spread her expansive theatrical knowledge and diverse training in the realms of private instruction and audition coaching, as well as by teaching classes in acting & improvisation, introduction to musical theatre, and even musical theatre workshops intended to give young artists the opportunity to perform a tailored and personal "mini-production!" Kailey prides herself on her ability to interact with and uplift our next generation of performers at all ages and levels of experience. Visit our website's homepage to view several teaching testimonials from Kailey's students.

As a Company Manager

Kailey has enjoyed being able to travel with CAMT over the last year to perform at Walt Disney World, and even to New York City this past month. Coordinating transportation and hotel accommodations, while facilitating workshops and show tickets has been one of her many joys of getting to wear several different hats with Charleston Academy of Musical Theatre - including as a Company Manager! Check back to our website's "Updates" tab soon for more information regarding Kailey's most recent trip to NYC.

Looking Ahead

Kailey is excited to be stage managing CAMT's upcoming Spring productions of 'Legally Blonde Jr,' 'Disney's The Little Mermaid Jr,' & 'Aristocats Kids' throughout the Charleston area.
