On June 4, 2022, Kailey Jones travelled with award winning children's theatre company, Charleston Academy of Musical Theatre to perform on the AdventHealth Waterside Stage in Orlando, FL.

New Endeavors

Having toured several productions across the United States' southeastern region, Kailey was eager to have the opportunity to add to her increasing list of operated performance venues, especially from the new prospective of Tour Manager. Alongside the combined creative and technical teams of CAMT and Disney Imagination Campus, Kailey was able to effectively oversee and execute the transportation and performance of over 60 children, ranging in age from 7 to 17.

FURTHERED Experience

Kailey relished the opportunity to expand her professional theatre experience through her work with Walt Disney World, however she has also had the pleasure of advancing her role as a Teaching Artist with CAMT over the last year. Having tested the waters as an instructor for several classes and workshops in her first semester with the company, Kailey has now successfully concluded her educational year having independently led the growth of 7 classes, ranging in a variety of different age groups and performance levels, and contributing to CAMT's second consecutive win as Lowcountry Parent's recipient of "Best Theatre Classes" for the Mom's Choice Awards. SUMMER PLANS

Kailey looks forward to wearing many different hats this summer, such as Teaching Artist, Director, Arts Administrator, and Stage Manager, as she becomes a crucial leader for 7 weeks of summer intensives with Charleston Academy of Musical Theatre. Kailey is also eager to begin work for CAMT's next production season as she prepares to stage manage 'The Music Man Jr.' & 'Disney's The Little Mermaid Jr.' at downtown Charleston's historic Sottile Theatre in the winter.

On April 2, 2022, the curtain closed on Kailey Jones' final local performance within Charleston Academy of Musical Theatre's 21-22 season at historic downtown's Festival Hall.

Reflecting Back

Glancing back at her time with CAMT, Kailey has grown within her abilities as a Stage Manager through 3 full mainstage productions and 1 theatrical cabaret across 4 Performance Companies (Ranging from ages 7 to 17 years old). This growth is seen largely in her abilities to maintain CAMT's artistic mission of building children up through a nurturing and safe environment and leading from a place of compassionate guidance, while facilitating the creation of professional quality youth theatre through her coordination both on and backstage.

Thanks

Working to portray Director Courtney Sarre's vision of 'Into The Woods Jr,' Kailey is very aware that her leadership is only executed through the hard work of her creative and technical teams. Specifically, Kailey would like to thank Dexter Foxworth (Festival Hall Venue and Sales Manager), her production team at Fox Audio Visual, her installation team at TTS Studios, Cam Hayes (Scenic Designer and Technical Director), & Amy Hux and Michelle O'Donnel (CAMT Operation Supervisors) for all of their assistance in mounting and carrying out this production.

Future with CAMT

Kailey has enjoyed her time as Charleston Academy of Musical Theatre's resident Stage Manager, as well as a Performance Company Acting/Musical Theatre Instructor, and she is looking forward to working with them in their 2022-2023 season. Kailey will be traveling with CAMT to Orlando this summer for a song-cycle performance through Disney Imagination Campus, and she cannot wait for the opportunity to work in one of her most familiar venues!

New Opportunities

Kailey began working with Charleston Academy of Musical Theatre after arriving in the Downtown Charleston metropolitan area at the end of August 2021. With performance opportunities hindered globally due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Kailey was overjoyed to find work in her field so shortly after arriving to her new stomping grounds.

Kailey's Role

With majority of Kailey's background being based in onstage training, Kailey has loved the opportunity to expand her skillsets into the realms of Stage Management, Arts Administration, and Children's Theatre. Kailey's role with CAMT has placed her at the side of Artistic Director and National Award-Winning Children's Theatre Director Courtney Page Sarre, with her responsibilities ranging from choreographing for workshops and administrating for CAMT's community outreach, to teaching a variety of theatre classes (Ages 7 to 17) and organizing load-in/load-out procedures for several Downtown CHS venues.

Moving Forward

Kailey has loved living in Charleston since her arrival 5 months ago, and has been enjoying every minute of her integration into the lowcountry's rich culture. Coming out of her holiday season with the famed Charleston Caroling Company and her first semester of productions with Charleston Academy of Musical Theatre, Kailey is eager to see her continued professional growth beyond college graduation.
