On September 7, 2021, Kailey Jones became an RYT-200 Certified Yoga Teacher from the Yoga & Ayurveda Center.

Yogic Background

Kailey began her yoga practice in 2018 as a way to improve her dance flexibility and mobility, while simultaneously centering her mind. Unaware that yoga would be the key to unlocking her most elevated and healthy self, Kailey quickly began to explore each yogic divinity and discovered her passion for the practice as a whole.

Kailey as a Yoga Teacher

With her foundation in dance and music, Kailey's classes heavily integrate musicality into flow transitions, as well as cardio and tempo into each practice. Considering Kailey's acting training roots itself heavily in Fitzmaurice Voicework, which incorporates aspects of meditation and deep stretching yoga poses (asanas), her classes are truly a full experience for the mind, body, and spirit.

Gratitude

Kailey is beyond grateful for the journey that her yoga practice has led her on , and would like to specifically extend her appreciation to her mentor Steph Ball-Mitchell from the Yoga & Ayurveda Center, as well as to each of her friends who have encouraged her journey, supported her practice, or even taken one of her classes. Now continuing her practice as a Registered Yoga Teacher, Kailey cannot wait to touch the hearts and minds of her future students as former teachers have influenced her.

On August 10, 2021, Kailey Jones became a first-generation, magna cum laude graduate from the FAU Department of Theatre & Dance with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting w/ Concentration in Musical Theatre.

Work at FAU

During her time at Florida Atlantic University, Kailey had the opportunity to perform professionally within the South Florida theatre community, as well as educationally across FAU's mainstages including: Studio 1, Studio 2, University Theatre, and FAU's Carole & Barry Kaye Performing Arts Auditorium. These performances included concerts, musicals, staged readings, straight plays, musical cabarets, dance showcases, and many other creative variations!

Academic Accolades

Kailey graduated as a member of Phi Kappa Phi National Academic Honor Society, "the nation's oldest, largest, and most selective honor society for all academic disciplines", as well as Treasurer of FAU's Alpha Beta Epsilon chapter of Alpha Psi Omega National Theatre Honor Society. Kailey graduated a year ahead of her projected graduation date after beginning her journey into collegiate academia at 14 years old, and is pleased to graduate with Latin Honors and a GPA above 3.8.

Thanks

Kailey wishes the utmost thanks to her professors at Florida Atlantic University, specifically those within the Department of Theatre & Dance, as well as to her family, friends, and mentors who helped to pave her way both educationally, professionally, and personally within the theatrical world and beyond. Excited to begin her career post-graduation, Kailey is nothing but grateful to each and every one of her supporters. Go Owls!
